I just don't think it's too much to ask of our government for healthy food, good water, and clean air ... their priorities are still all screwed up! Money, power, and greed ... NOT our health, or welfare!

Here we go again ... or should I say "still shamming and shaming us" with their own agendas ... money, power, and greed ... not our health, welfare, or well being! I caught most of a movie called "The Kid" with Bruce Willis. I'll have to watch the beginning some other time. What a "feel good", entertaining movie! I must be sensitive today because it made me cry (yep, I'm a crier).
Tears and humor are my best healers. ~nr lenz Judge for yourself ... how do you feel about this? Did you even know anything about this? You don't see much publicity about it, the "lay" public has not been included, or advised. It doesn't hit the headlines much at all.
Because of ACTA, I may be tearing down the majority of my You Tube videos. Sorry guys! I could protect myself some by having each musician I have posted videos of ... sign a contract giving me permission to upload them, but often I may not personally know them. Because of that and when I have discussed it with some musicians, they give me a "nod" or "verbal" okay, I am sure that is not enough (for legal purposes). I also find that people initially view the videos, then the activity wanes. There has not been much activity since the most current video I posted. Right now, I just feel it's not worth the time, effort, or risk, for me. http://www.stopacta.info/#ActainDepth Too late to participate in this, but the information is still important to know! http://www.ustr.gov/acta http://www.actafacts.com/index.htm I'm a slow reader with lousy retention skills. With a few life-changing decisions to be made, which reqire some important reading first, I'll probably be less accessible on line. My concentration and time has to be directed to a few things that need to be done. I've procrastinated long enough. Have a great weekend, whatever you choose to do.
Appreciate and love your father this weekend. Unfortunately, both my father and father-in-law are gone now. My alma mater was on GMA this morning. Boy, did this pull my heartstrings this morning. Having gone to high school with the Wilson boys at Hawthorne High School (go scarlet and gold), it's one of my fondest memories of my life! My freshman year my best friend, at the time, lived in the same neighborhood as the Wilson family. We used to be able to hear them practice in their garage, for assemblies at school - before they were even famous. Beach parties (not necessarily surfing), love ins at Griffith Park, flea markets, drive-ins, beads, flowers, body painting, etc. ... all part of the sixties - hippies, surfers, and hodads - and we all got along! My way of "cruisin' Main" on the weekends were jaunts from Hawthorne up LaBrea Avenue to Hollywood & Vine! And after-hours clubs were "da bomb"!!!! ~nr lenz
Humans are such strange creatures. I wonder why some people miss and still love family and 'so-called' friends ... who don't give a damn about them? Why should we care, if they don't? That kind of void is so difficult to fill, or replace.
Missing you could turn from pain to pleasure, if I knew you were missing me too. ~Author Unknown Sometimes, when one person is missing, the whole world seems depopulated. ~Lamartine Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell. ~Edna St. Vincent Millay If I had a single flower for every time I think about you, I could walk forever in my garden. ~Claudia Ghandi Your absence has gone through me Like thread through a needle Everything I do is stitched with its color. ~W.S. Merwin, "Separation" Every parting is a form of death, as every reunion is a type of heaven. ~Tryon Edwards I dropped a tear in the ocean. The day you find it is the day I will stop missing you. ~Author Unknown Anyone who knows me, is aware that I used to be on Facebook. I felt that they have too much control of our personal information and also of the site itself. They implement anything new they want to, whether you want to have it on your FB page or not. Some changes they make, you can use your control features, but not so with all of them.
I had no idea that the Obamas have accounts on FB, Twitter, and Pinterest. I guess I'm a bit old-fashioned but, personally, I don't think this is right. I think the White House has become way too accessible to the lay person. There is a website for the White House and that should be enough. People can just as easily communicate through that. Sorry, just think they, or their daughters, should be that open and public. Not to mention, if they didn't do all that, perhaps more important things could get done in the White House! Or perhaps they're implementing their own "big brother", so they can watch all of US! Opinions are like a**holes, we all have one ... and that's mine! ~nrlenz This season of America's Got Talent has been a bit of a disappointment, although still ranks right up there as one of my favorite competition shows.
Howard Stern must be finally growing up and maturing some. He's not been nearly as sharp-tongued as he was on his television show. I am also a bit surprised at some of the things that he has been offended by. His television program had plenty of off-color, odd, and even offensive guests, and situations. Perhaps the station gave him "guidelines" and his behavior was part of the agreement with them. However, I do enjoy him as a judge, alongside Sharon Osborne, and Howie Mandel. They make quite a crew! The three of them are a colorful cast, all on their own. I feel their "natural" personalities would make a great sitcom! ... owners a mental facility, or a 3 stooges kind of thing, except 'verbal', some crazy couple's 'triplets', or maybe an OCD treatment center ... hahahahahahaha ... I'm having to make a decision whether to file for Social Security or not. So much to digest, so many options to consider, and frustration. Anyone want to share their experiences, feelings, or advice for me?
Retirement: It's nice to get out of the rat race, but you have to learn to get along with less cheese. ~Gene Perret Boy, what a mouth full! ~nr lenz I'm retired - goodbye tension, hello pension! ~Unknown This must have been written long ago!! Now it seems "pension" time creates "tension" time. ~nr lenz When a man retires and time is no longer a matter of urgent importance, his colleagues generally present him with a watch. ~R.C. Sherriff I always wondered about that one! uh, duh ... ~nr lenz Life begins at retirement. ~Author Unknown Not unless you have unlimited funds or at least a part-time job! The challenge of retirement is how to spend time without spending money. ~Author Unknown ... like I said ... You are only young once, but you can stay immature indefinitely. ~Ogden Nash Hey, quit talking 'bout me like that! ~nr lenz Youth would be an ideal state if it came a little later in life. ~Herbert Asquith "Too bad we can't begin life with the wisdom that we gain as we age!" ~nr lenz |
