I have one bit of advice for those people who own these, or any, graveyards: "Provide restroom facilities - even an OUTHOUSE on the grounds would be perfectly adequate." It has nothing to do with 'pride' or 'vanity' out there in the sticks, or around the deceased. I'm not above 'pissin' in the wind' (so to speak), however, my luck I'd get caught 'with my pants down'! *smile* I even made sure that I used a public restroom before driving a few miles outside of town, but it takes a long time to peruse the graveyard grounds and the photograhing of them (even the small ones) !
I spent another day doin' a little foot stompin' around the Sumner, Eddyville, and Miller (Nebraska) area graveyards. I have put together a couple of videos ... one of just the headstones and cemetary grounds and one of the drive "in between" them, more scentery photos. Click on the "Photoshow" tab, if you'd like to see them. I have left them, pretty much, in the same order that I found them as I walked the grounds. Names are in no particular order. The majority are "family", by blood and/or marriage. Some are just names that are familiar to me (perhaps friends' relatives), and also some that are 'broken' or 'fallen'. If I had no restrictions on money, I would re-construct those that are detetiorating, or have been valdalized; what a shame to see them that way.
