I saw a computer desk but needed to take measurements to see if it would fit in my small place. I went home, took measurements, and mid-day went back and bought it. After haggling about the price, and they lowered the price a little. While chatting with one of the ladies I found out they are actually doing this sale as a fund raiser - for her daughter-in-law who is fighting cancer and is only 31 years old.
After finding that out, I felt bad about even negotiating the cost of the desk. Through more conversation, I found out that she was willing and happy to receive donations from people. I've been going through stuff for awhile, but have been procrastinating on actually taking anything to Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. Yes, I'm a procrastinator, but today was the day to donate - to help her daughter-in-law. I've taken small furniture items, shoes, and books so far.
Giving to a good cause always makes the heart feel warm 'n fuzzy. And I'm not done yet.
