They chose the Ft. Kearney Eagles Lodge, Aerie #2722 to hold the event. A few area businesses donated hors d'oeuvres, food, paper goods, etc. Local musicians also stepped up to the plate and donated their time, efforts, and awesome musical talent. There was live music from beginning to end. I was so impressed with the turnout.
My part in this event was as a photographer for them. I was happy to do it. The support of their friends, fellow musicians, and even people who didn't know them - pulled my heart strings. As Kate put it, "You never envision yourself in this kind of situation, and it is, and has been a humbling experience." They are very proud people and not the type to ask for, or take, help.
I am in the process of uploading videos to my You Tube page, and will put together one of my Roxio photoshows as soon as I edit the still pictures. I had two 4 GB memory sticks, and had to go home during the event to download them, and go again!
Later on, you can also look forward to video interviews with them.
If you were unable to attend, or would like to help, send donations to Kurt Mitchell/Kate Fly at 75430 Drive 448, Overton NE 68863.
