According to the above link, "This law has been discussed out of public view as to avoid public outcry." The way I understand it, if ACTA passes, it will have the right to ban websites, users (and their families), for copyright infringement. Even ISP providers can be shut down because of clients who have been banned. Beyond this, ACTA gives the government the right to monitor your on line activities, without reason. SOPA and PIPA may be dead, but the copyright dilemma continues! See the "Links" tab for more websites about this prospective legislation.
I'd love to hear your opinions about this. It looks like we've gone from bad, to worse. With the advent of the internet, it certainly seems we are losing more freedom, than we are gaining. Is it just me? And why haven't we heard about ACTA? Many countries have already joined in, including the US of A!
