WHAT A MIX | According to Social Security, at age 66, I am considered "full retirement age". Hmmm ... what does all this mean? One thing it means is that I can earn as much money as I want once I reach my FRA, and my Social Security income won't be reduced . . . yay!! I can continue to work my full-time job, and it might be time to think about doing some side line work, on line! *smile* Actually, if I understand correctly, it includes your birthday month, so I guess I'm already there, though short by about a week of my birthday. The drawback: I'll still have to pay SS taxes on my wages, or self-employment income - with Social Security or not! What, no tax breaks, for growing older?! Too bad I don't know someone who lives on "Route 66" . . . how fun it would be to have a "66th year" birthday bash weekend on Route 66, in celebration of the day of MY birth!! *smile* |
