It's no secret that George Jones was quite the drinker; even he talks about the false sense of security it gave him. "White Ligntnin" (1959) was his first number one single hit (that's a 45 rpm record). The best stories I hear about life long drinkers are the ones with happy endings. As I understand, he was dry and straight the final years of his life and able to enjoy and bond with his lovely daughter.
