The town will be hoppin', poppin', rockin' and rollin' around Kearney today. Cars are beginning their lineup downtown "on the bricks" for Show 'n Shine. After a day of being able to look, oooo, aw, and chat with the owners, the cars will parade through downtown; then Highway 30 will turn into a place to cruise and shine some more! There will be vendors and live music through the day, and evening hours. For any OK Sisters fans, they will perform at 8 pm in the MONA parking lot.

I haven't used my nettie pot in a while. With a bit of stuffiness, I chose to use what little was left in the pot, from my last use. To my surprise, it only took once, each side. There were some undissolved salt crystals ... it gave my nasal passages quite a "blast". Oh, my, what a cleansing experience that was (well, and still is) ... nettie pots are a friend to anyone who suffers from seasonal allergies! If you've never used one before, it takes while for its full effects to take place. By using a nettie pot, you don't need to "take a pill" that only masks the effects, where the nettie pot gets to the source of the problem, so to speak ... cheaper, and healthier ...
I have posted a few still pics of a few cars I caught this evening as they did a "show and shine" at the nursing homes ... I missed most of it, but there's a little taste of the cars I caught ... click on the "Photos" tab to see them!
Here's the most obvious reason why I am not a huge proponent of mainstream medicine. What a shame, for this woman!
http://news.yahoo.com/texas-woman-underwent-chemo-after-false-diagnosis-132745549.html Cruise Nite (week) officially kicks off today, and continues until Sunday. You can see the town slowly fill up with classic cars; I love it. It sounds as though it might be a little cooler this year, however, with a chance of rain. We just hope it isn't bad enough to put a damper on all the Cruise Nite activities. You can check out the activities by using the web links listed on my homepage. Welcome, everybody!
My most recent email, from Dean, says, "Things are going pretty good. Starting to lose the hair, but not much nausea so far."
A few quotes ... of reality, and encouragement for my friend: "My cancer scare changed my life. I'm grateful for every new, healthy day I have. It has helped me prioritize my life." ~Olivia Newton-John "During chemo, you're more tired than you've ever been. It's like a cloud passing over the sun, and suddenly you're out. You don't know how you'll answer the door when your groceries are delivered. But you also find that you're stronger than you've ever been. You're clear. Your mortality is at optimal distance, not up so close that it obscures everything else, but close enough to give you depth perception. Previously, it has taken you weeks, months, or years to discover the meaning of an experience. Now it's instantaneous." ~Melissa Bank The most important thing in illness is never to lose heart. ~Nikolai Lenin Feed your faith and your fears will starve to death. ~Author Unknown We cannot direct the wind but we can adjust the sails. ~Author Unknown Physical strength is measured by what we can carry; spiritual by what we can bear. ~Author Unknown Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles. ~Alex Karras There is much in the world to make us afraid. There is much more in our faith to make us unafraid. ~Frederick W. Cropp I have a friend in Valley, Nebraska who is interested in selling his home there. If you might be interested, please send me a private message. I believe it will be listed next week.
