Casey Kasem (born Kemal Amin Kasem on April 27, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan) is an American radio personality and voice actor of Druze Lebanese extraction. He has been married to actress/singer Jean Kasem since 1980 and they have one child together, daughter Liberty Kasem. He had three children with his first wife, Linda Myers Kasem (to whom he was married from 1969 to 1979). Their son, Mike Kasem, is also a voice-over actor. Their daughter is television host Kerri Kasem.
Casey is now missing; I am hoping that he is safe! I know there has been quite a controversy surrounding this man between his blood and extended families. I think it's a shame that his current wife is keeping his children from seeing their father. I don't know the details, but it's certainly a shame that as we age, others can just take over our individual lives as if we never existed at all. Another example is Mickey Rooney and the mess at the end of his life. Even if you have your 'life in order', or think you do, people and agencies can do what the hell they want, once we're dead. It's easy to say that life is not about our material goods, but you sure can see the ugly side of life, and death, once a person passes on. If you're poor, they only have to find $$ to dispose of your physical body, with no money or material goods to fight over. ~nrl
Greed has taken the whole universe, and nobody is worried about their soul. ~Little Richard
Greed is going to be our own destroyer; look into your soul before you grab, and take from others things that you may not deserve. ~nrl
If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter. ~George Washington
And even when we have the freedom, often elders are silenced by deception and greed. ~nrl
In all things it is a good idea to hang a question mark now and then on the things we have taken for granted. ~Bertrand Russell
For example, assuming your loved ones will be fair to you - in life, health, sickness, and in death. ~nrl
The mouse that hath but one hole is quickly taken. ~George Herbert
I would finish this quote with ... "is quickly taken advantage of ..." ~nrl
It's joyful to give. But for people who want to take advantage of you, you're kind of an easy mark. ~Larry King
Givers are seen as weak, not as one who's driven to help or show empathy. Amen to that one, Larry! ~nrl
