Why does it matter so much what label you wear, the cost and brand of your accessories, how much money you spent for your hair? How can we expect to control a national debt when we have people who want to brag about how MUCH THEY SPEND, rather than how MUCH THEY SAVE! When I get complimented on a thrift shop purchase, I giggle, thank them, and brag about HOW LITTLE I paid for something and HOW MUCH I SAVED!!! I would dress differently myself, if I could afford it. The difference is (I hope) is that I would not "flaunt" it, and brag about. I don't fault anyone who can make those changes, I fault the "attitude" they seem to exude, when they do.
I'm so disappointed how much is being focused on "vanity" in these conventions. From fashion to set design ... there's way too much focus on things that "don't matter". How can you compare two women who are so different ... from their age, to the upbringings? How about making everyone in these conventions have the same exact backdrops, and wearing uniforms? Then what? What if they all had to depend on "what's inside", and not their physical vanities?
