She has the right idea - keep living, and live life to the fullest, day by day. As she knows all too well, "you never know what life may deal you". I believe it's been her attitude that has helped her to out-live her prognosis, along with her desire to "keep on dancing"!
Her dance and the song she danced to ... brought tears to my eyes. She has such inner strength. With that, and what she said before she danced, pulled my heart strings. It was so moving.
No one mentioned it but, to me, it looked as though she lost her "footing". And when she lost her footing, it interrupted her concentration on the dance itself.
I'm speculating that we will see her every week that she can make it. You could tell she loved and enjoyed being there. And we love her, for that!! I hope we see her around for the remainder of the DWTS season!
Thanks, Valerie, for being real, for being truly "you". I wish you radical wellness and hope that the diagnosis was wrong!
Here are a few of her quotes, about DWTS:

I'm sad to leave the group and the people, and the fun, the interactions and the challenges, but my knees are in bad shape. Not terrible, not that I need surgery, but they need a rest. These knees are 74-year-old and they are barking..SOURCE: E! ONLINE 2013-10-08 05:46:00
