From Winter Whimsey to Holiday Warmth

I decided I needed to mix things up, with winter and holidays so quickly upon us.  My quest was to find my box of curtains and put up warmer, darker colors to help insulate the house on the north.  With the old shade tree now gone from our severe spring storms 2010, that north wind is more penetrating.  I've found a lot of things in my search today, not one being a curtain.  I had forgotten that I put those "extras" in a give-away box last year.  Tsk, tsk ... so instead, I moved a few sets from room to room, went junk shopping and found something I hope will work.
I guess this search is a good thing ... the Christmas boxes are now down from the shelves, holiday music on the turntable (okay, CD player); the boxes are stacked and ready to be gone through to see what holiday whimsey will make it on the walls as well as widgets 'n things hangin' around to help the holiday ambience to envelope within.
I miss my gal pals this time of year - those who used to come to my house for "egg nogg" to ring in winter and the holiday season.  You gals, you know who you are ...  We would meet some time after Thanksgiving, or around our first winter snow.  Yummy, miss you gals!  *smile* ... heart-to-heart hugs ...  Here's to us, the egg nog (which, by the way, most of them did not like initially), here's to the music, here's to our gal pal fun!  Thanks for the memories ...  where is that darn blender anyway?!

Hi Nancy/Bonnie,
You don't need to be concerned about me as I don't send 'forwards',jokes, spiritual messages or the like but I can sure relate!!
I'm just so happy to hear from you and please let me know what you are up to when you get a minute OK??
I remembered which 'Gene' it was who did a Mexican Hat Dance all over my heart, and his name was Gene Bellanger-kind of like the Mr."Surfer Dude" who messed you over.Wasn't his name Bill??My "childhood sweetheart",Dale was the real deal, and when he has to go to the dentist,he tells me,he imagines himself riding waves (we rode together sometimes but he usually rode with his buddies)Anyway Gene Bellanger apparently had a daughter named Secret Lee,that's all I can remember now,and I'm glad as guys like that don't deserve much more than a passing snort. What are you up to??I'm not nuts about the holidays but at least the doggie is back home-he tends to run as he isn't even a year old. Write soon. I love you,
Marsha O'Lynn-Sidwell
