Landy Earhart passed away on November 18, 2016.
This photo was taken June 6, 2015 at the memorial service for Carrie Earhart.  One of several children, Landy has now left this earthly plane to join his mother, father Leonard and brother Tony (of recent generations).
I was able to visit Landy the first night (Tuesday) he was brought to a local hospital.  His voice was weak, but he spoke of how interesting it was, to be dying  and how it was certainly a 'new' experience. I believe that he was ready for a 'rebirth', so to speak.
A few minutes later Karen Ussery came to see Landy as well.  Landy asked Karen if she would do the music when he passed.  Of course, she agreed.  It's so fitting because Karen and Lenz did music and vocals at Carrie's memorial service.
Intentions were to go see Landy again on Wednesday, however, with sniffles at work all day I didn't feel I should visit any public place if I was coming down with something contagious.  I was proactive and medicated myself (water, mentholatum, hot tea, etc.).
On Thursday, after work, I called to see if Landy was still at the hospital (I knew family was working on hospice).  He was still there so the nurse connected me to his room.
The rest of the story is not something I care to share. Let's just say, under the circumstances, I felt the need for Landy and his visitor to have time, alone, if he should indeed pass away.  Based on those feelings, I explained to Landy what I chose to do.  Landy's response to me was, "I'm dying; I have cancer; I don't know if I'll be here tomorrow."
With a lump in my throat, and a feeble attempt to make light and be positive, for him.  I still did not visit on Thursday evening.  I got word of his passing early afternoon on Friday.  ♥ 2 ♥ heavenly hugs ... no more pain.
