What still bothers me most is my attempt to understand why any parent would take a young child (especially an infant) to a movie premier that time of night - especially knowing it is rated PG-13. I just can't wrap my head around what would make parents bring their children. The child may not understand, but I can't help but think even the audio score would penetrate those younger minds. ... and, obviously, those parents that made those choices didn't understand that either. I just hope and pray that those parents learned something from this horrible, tragic incident and will think twice the next time they take in a movie. If you don't have a sitter, do the right thing, don't go ... and who knows the reasons why. I just don't understand.
It restores my faith in the media to see and hear them doing interviews and sharing stories of the victims and survivors, rather than dwelling on the shooter. The heroism is heart-warming; it's all so bittersweet - death, tragedy, and horror laced with survival, empathy, and compassion. What does the word "faith" mean to you, in your life?
