I'm a firm believer that there is no such thing as a 'dumb' question and I am appalled at the people who attempted to demean and criticize people who had the same curiosity as me. I'm guessing there are more citizens, like me, who are not politically savvy or particularly knowledgeable of history, government, and politics. At least I was curious enough to try and find out. You can't find answers by not being proactive.
The best answer to my question was: "Electoral College would vote as they always do. The Electoral College was established by the founding fathers as a compromise between election of the president by Congress and election by popular vote. The people of the United States vote for the electors who then vote for the President." I think the Electoral College should be abolished.
As I've already expressed, I do have voter's apathy this year, and I probably will not vote. I know many people who feel the same way. It's just a 'bashing' match against one another. They both lie, to us, and about each other. How the heck is anyone supposed to make an informed decision when we are all fed nothing but misinformation, unfulfilled promises, and slanted polls? I don't trust, or believe ... either presidential candidate, either party, or anyone who tries to sway me. Liars, crooks, cheaters, and thieves - we don't have a chance. I feel the title of president, vice president, etc. is no different than a manager, secretary, or administrative assistant in a local business. They have a 'position', that's all. I believe there are 'bigger guns', so to speak.
Personally, I would not want either job!
