I hope, through Rod McKuen's death, his talent and works will resurface for those who have forgotten, or have never heard of him. He was much more diverse in his talents than I even realized. And looking back, I saw some of the t.v. things, not realizing at the time, who Rod even was . . . may he rest in peace!

I looked at a 2012 Fiat 500 Sport yesterday after work. It was not what I originally went to look at, but it grasped my attention. The car is smaller than a Mini Cooper by a few inches. The exterior of the Fiat has quite sleek styling. The interior is all right, but the interior doesn't match the exterior, except for the dash, and all its goodies that light up. It is a two-door, four-seater and also has a hatchback area. The rear seats can fold down to allow more storage.
Here's what I found. It has been a long time since I have driven a stick. The moving between gears seemed a long stretch and to get in reverse there is a pop up around the gear shift that has to be pulled up, while putting car into reverse. That was odd, to me. I was frustrated with my lack of control out of first gear. After I got home, I watch a few videos of reviews on You Tube for this little gem. If you're driving it right, you'll spend a lot of time downshifting - and the ride was a bit bumpy because of its narrow wheel base. Here's what I have determined. This little, sporty gem is too sporty for me. I would be doing this car a disservice, driving it like a little ol' lady. It's funny because men go through a mid-life crises and usually want something fast!! I find I really want a car that is more comfortable, and and not so 'sporty'. So, after my initial impression, based mostly on 'looks', In spite of its low miles, and striking initial appearance, I have come to my senses and will not be buying this car. I even found some novelty songs I actually have never heard before. These are such a hoot!
You'll notice that I have added a "Google+" symbol on my homepage. I added that before I found a way to get rid of too many accounts, etc. I have, for now, deleted, closed, gotten rid of, etc. everything related to Google except for my current gmail email. I am leaving it here because as soon as I read up more on Google+, I will add a page. I need to learn more first!
Please extend me grace; I'm a slow learner and have poor retention skills. It takes me a while before the "light comes on". Sometimes I can get by with just "doing", but not so in the case of learning the ropes about "Google" and its various platforms. Ignorance got me in a mess this time. Sorry for any inconvenience! Also, when I get my Roxio photoshows organized, I will also make those somewhat public. The personal ones, will be by invitation only. Thanks. ~Nancy |
