Twitter Trash Talk - My Twist on Twitter, its Twits, & Tweets!

7/31/2012

Here is a quote from an email I got back from jabbles2 of Twitter when I asked exactly what I had done wrong to recently have been suspended.  "It looks like a disproportionately large number of users, including ones you followed or @replied, have chosen to either block your account or report it as spam."
TO THOSE TWITS ON TWITTER WHO MAY HAVE "BLOCKED" ME OR "REPORTED ME AS SPAM", CAUSING ME TO BE SUSPENDED, CAN (fill in the blanks)!  Gimme a f'n break ... there is more T&A, porn, slutty, smutty stuff on there than anything I ever tweeted or replied to ... you won't find anything here on my own website to even compare to the crap I saw "tweeted" there (and that includes famous people).  Some of the famous exhibit pretty trashy talk.  You would think since they can be impressionistic on all ages, they would want to be good examples ... NOT!!!  Thank God, there are some who don't jump on that bandwagon, just because "they obviously can"!
I was merely trying to interact with, and meet new people ... have a little verbal fun.  I also found that, on Twitter, if you do too much, they penalize you.  If you don't do enough, they penalize you.  WTF?  Sorry, can you tell I'm a bit 'put out'?  I have since deactivated my Twitter account and will continue to have control of things, here on my own website!  I was finally curious enough to explore what Twitter is all about and I ended up with a worse taste in my mouth about it than I originally had before I actually checked it out.
GOOD RIDDENS TO BAD RUBBISH!  Thanks for the ride ... more like a train wreck!

Rain

Rainbows  apologize for angry skies.  ~Sylvia Voirol
Saturday I was driving through a rainstorm, right toward a rainbow peering through the eastern skies ahead of me. ~nrl

Let the rain kiss you.  Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid  drops.
Let the rain sing you a lullaby.  ~Langston Hughes
Even though I drove through two slammin' storms on Saturday, this area got but a few raindrops.  The farmers need a nice soaking rain.  We can do without hail, harsh winds, etc.

Anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain.  ~Author  Unknown
I don't know that sunshine brings me happiness, but it gives me light.  I love to walk barefoot in the rain, as long as it's a warm rain.  ~nrl

Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet.  ~Roger Miller
It can be fun to not only 'walk in the rain', but also to 'get drenched'.  ~nrl

Watch the Numbers

I went ahead and agreed, about my "behavior" and "actions" on Twitter.  The only thing that makes any sense is that I had "followed" too many people, at one time.  I've since found an article which brings the operations of Twitter into layman's terms.  I'll read that, before being very active again.
After I "agreed" to something I was unsure of, I got back on ... I wanted to save my tweets.  Some of them I can use here on my website.  I shared being shut down with another member and the same thing happened to him.  By choice, I have "unfollowed" anyone who is not following me, with the exception of a few (health and autism pages).  I have not yet received a notice telling me I had "unfollowed" too many people at one time ... haha ... so far, so good.
It seems that may be a common mistake for anyone who joins Twitter without reading all their rules and regulations. Their rules and regulations are no less maddening and difficult to understand as the 6 pt. type fulll of elastic clauses on a legal document.
I'm still getting some of my tweets and replies "favorited", though they may not be "following" me.  Time will tell, whether I will continue to play with these twits on Twitter, and continue to tweet.  I've been told, "Don't give up; look forward to more of your tweets!"
I just need to learn the Twitter protocol, to avoid getting my hands slapped again ... hehe!

Short-lived life, on Twitter!

For now, I'm outta there - not by choice, but rather by force - by them.

Well, I came back to my Twitter account this evening to find that my page has been "suspended".  Their request of me?  To "ok" and "agree" to not abuse and/or improve by behavior on there.  I have no idea what I did wrong.

Of course, they don't make it easy to contact them.  After a great amount of time trying to find a way to contact them without agreeing to something that I am uncomfortable with ... not knowing for certain how I broke their rules.  They sent me back an email suggesting I "read" rules and regs.  Like any legal document, it's not easy; not cut and dried.  I had already done that and still didn't understand what I did to 'abuse my priveleges' of being on Twitter.

As I await another response, you won't see me there.  And, whether I reinstate or not ... hmmm, not sure.  My behaviors or actions crossed the line yet members on there can show their breasts, their butts, etc., and use profanity like it's no big deal and they don't care who they offend with it ... and you notice I didn't say "tits and asses" (just making a point).

My life on Twitter may be very short lived. Thanks for the sh*ts and giggles.  I was enjoying it as it's something totally different than social websites, however, I'm personally offended by this current action by them, toward me.  ~nrl

Weekends

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  They are never long enough to suit me.  Too much I want to get accomplished, too little time to get it all done.

I've just realized that I can post my Roxio photoshows on Twitter ... how fun ... perhaps I'll do 'one a day'.  I still will not post personal, or family ones. You still need to ask me, if you want to see those.

War by Seniors!

Picture
I received this as a forward this morning.  I would give credit, if I knew where this came from ... it was just too good not to copy, paste, and share!

I am over 60 and the Armed Forces thinks I'm too old to track down terrorists. You can't be older than 42 to join the military. They've got the whole thing ass-backwards.
Instead of sending 18-year olds off to fight, they ought to take us old guys. You shouldn't be able to join a military unit until you're at least 35.
For starters, researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10 seconds.  Old guys only think about sex a couple of times a day, leaving us more than 28,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy.  Young guys haven't lived long enough to be cranky, and a cranky soldier is a dangerous soldier. 'My back hurts!  I can't sleep, I'm tired and hungry.' We are impatient and maybe letting us kill some asshole that desperately deserves it will make us feel better and shut us up for awhile.  An 18-year-old doesn't even like to get up before 10am.  Old guys always get up early to pee, so what the hell. Besides, like I said, I'm tired and can't sleep and since I'm already up, I may as well be up killing some fanatical son-of-a-bitch.  If captured we couldn't spill the beans because we'd forget where we put them. In fact, name, rank, and serial number would be a real brainteaser.
Boot camp would be easier for old guys.  We're used to getting screamed and yelled at and we're used to soft food. We've also developed an appreciation for guns.  We've been using them for years as an excuse to get out of the house, away from the screaming and yelling.
They could lighten up on the obstacle course however ... I've been in combat and never saw a single 20-foot wall with rope hanging over the side, nor did I ever do any pushups after completing basic training.  Actually, the running part is kind of a waste of energy, too ... I've never seen anyone outrun a bullet.
An 18-year-old has the whole world ahead of him.  He's still learning to shave, to start a conversation with a pretty girl.  He still hasn't figured out that a baseball cap has a brim to shade his eyes, not the back of his head.
These are all great reasons to keep our kids at home to learn a little more about life before sending them off into harm's way.  Let us old guys track down those dirty rotten coward terrorists. The last thing an enemy would want to see is a couple million pissed off old farts with attitudes and automatic weapons, who know that their best years are already behind them.
HEY!! How about recruiting women over 50 ... in menopause!!!  You think MEN
have attitudes?  Ohhhhhhhhhhhh my God!!!  If nothing else, put them on border patrol.  They'll have it secured the first night!
Feel free to share this with all of your senior friends ... it's in big
type so they can read it!

Oh, Twit It!

I'll be glad when the newness wears off, with Twitter.  I love having my own website and You Tube pages. I hope my friends keep stopping by.  I need to find a way to continue to utilize them all - incorporate them.  Each has their own purpose and I don't want to show preference.  I could become a Twitter addict very easily, especially having an addictive personality.

No more American Idol . . . for me . . .

No more American Idol for this gal.  I'm not a huge fan of Mariah Carey and just learned that she will be replacing Jennifer Lopez.  And it has nothing to do with JLo - I wasn't a fan of hers either.  I wonder who they will get to replace Steven Tyler.  I guess it doesn't matter because I won't be watching anyway.

Old Twit . . .

Well, I've taken the plunge ... I'm now on Twitter.  After leaving Facebook I had such a bad taste in my mouth about ALL social media.  My curiosity got the best of me.  I always tell people I enjoy writings that are short, but full with impact.  That's the very premise of Twitter - not to mention that I can "follow" (don't like that term) anyone (from personal friends to famous people).  I've got "followers" already.  I've been on just a couple of days.  So far, I love it!
