HUGS - heart-to-heart ...

9/30/2011

Hugs emanate that warm 'n fuzzy feeling that lingers with you awhile.  I've evolved from a "tree hugger" to sharing the wisdom, energy, and physicality of "heart-to-heart hugs".  Heart-to-heart hugs strengthen the heart.  You will find that if you don't hug me "heart-to-heart", I will turn your body, and hug you on the other side!  Some people share only "half their heart" in giving a hug - they just don't know what they're missing!!

LET ME
Let me wrap you in my arms
No matter where or when
No matter even how long
Let me share heart to heart
A hug with love tucked inside
Our two hearts now beating
Feeling like a heart-felt song
A hug, from me to you
                                ~nr lenz

HUG: (verb) hugged, hugging to clasp a person in ones arms; embrace, to soothe, to console.
From of the Old English word LOGIAN ... to care for.  (I find that an interesting fact.)
HUGGER: (noun) one who hugs
HUGGABLE: (adjective) One who has an affectionate nature or qualities desirable to hug

Moving On ...

Change can be difficult, especially inner change.  Fear can be the very catalyst that stunts progress in creating a full life.  I feel we should dream big, face our fears, look onward and upward; let our inner strength help us move on.  You may find those jagged "nuggets" in your life will turn to "pearls" right before your very eyes.  ~n r lenz (me)

"A pearl is a beautiful thing that is produced by an injured life. It is the tear [that results] from the injury of the oyster. The treasure of our being in this world is also produced by an injured life. If we had not been wounded, if we had not been injured, then we will not produce the pearl." ~Stephan Hoeller

“I recognize that the person I was in my past is not the person I am today.”

"Justice", my youngest grandson ...

My older grandson, "Phoenix", has a birday in the next few days and I have posted a bit about the roots of his name.  You can find that under the "Articles" tab.  Here, I wanted to post a few quotes about "Justice", my younger grandson.  I find it interesting that the majority of quotes about "justice" seem to be more about "injusitice" (more negative, than positive) ... hmmm ...

"Justice is sweet and musical; but injustice is harsh and discordant."  ~Henry David Thoreau

Dentures, it's all just a "process" ...

Dentures ... this is a new experience for me.  Unfortunately, my genes gave me teeth just like my father (God love him, I love ya' Papa) - poor, and crooked.  If you have nice teeth, you can't even imagine this whole process.  I've never felt as if I had "pretty teeth" or a "pretty smile," all my life.  Well, hopefully, my adventure with an upper denture is complete.  It's been quite an ordeal for me; it's taken about a year (maybe more).  I'm very satisfied with the final product, so far.  Having said that, I did have to go in today for some sensitive spots, and an x-ray and cleaning of what few bottom teeth I have left.  No problems with them, yay - with proper care, and regular visits they seem to think I'll be able to keep the remaining ones.  Looks like a "partial" for the bottom is in order ... tsk, tsk ...

Ch, ch, ch, changes ...

I got a new denture today ... another "phase" of this fun process.  It has taken me longer than most, but we're getting there.  The new one is much better, just have a couple rough spots to take care of ... and now, again, I need to re-learn my speaking voice, learn where to put my tongue, enunciation of my words, etc.  Like I ususally tell people when they ask me about my experience, "It's all a process, it's all just a process ... kind of like life!"

I moved this, from the forum area ...

I tried putting quips & quotes in the forum area, hoping for more feedback ... I don't think it matters. My posts stem from what's on my mind on a particular day.  The other day it was lonliness on my mind - being lost or alone.  I see, meet, and talk to so many people who are lonely, afraid, and lost.  Many people feel alone, even in a crowd.  I sometimes withdraw into myself, wallow in the muck and mire awhile, returning with more strength and fortitude to face the world!

"There's nothing terribly wrong with feeling lost, so long as that feeling precedes some plan on your part to actually do something about it. Too often a person grows complacent with their disillusionment, perpetually wearing their 'discomfort' like a favorite shirt." ~ Jhonen Vasquez

Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase. ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we're not alone.

Funny, how things work out sometimes ...

I was disappointed.  So many things over the weekend did not work out how "I" had planned.  Things I thought were "planned", had been changed.  So, had "my" plans worked out, it would have been a "bust" of a weekend, with money and time used, that could have been better spent!  I was unaware about the change of plans, until later on Saturday evening, so the roadblocks I thought I had suffered actually kept things "right on course"!  I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason, even if I am disiappointed, and don't understand - at the time.

Always something, in life ...

When I awoke this morning it felt as though I had an obstruction, or maybe a sty, in my eye.  I could feel some unusual sensitivity in my left eye.  In the bathroom for my normal morning ritual, I looked in the mirror, discovering the white of my eye (outer edge) was RED, bright red.  I carefully washed my face, avoiding the eye area.  I put moisturizer on my face (again, avoiding the eye area), but no makeup ... ala naturelle' today!  Having no regular doctor, and one one who does not have health benefits, I will watch it, use some drops, and see how it looks at the end of my day.  I am hoping it is just stress, from too many hours at computer screens.  It's beginning to feel better already.  I did some "tapping", and said a little prayer.  Even my UPS man asked if he could pray with me, for healing, from the healing of all healers.  I said, "Yes, "Of course.  We can't have too many of those, can we?  We held hands, and he prayed for God's healing of my eye.

Mourning and Healing

Watching so much coverage about 9/11 yesterday left me heart heavy, thinking about my own personal losses and of those I love, who have also endured the pain of loss.  There are so many awesome quotes I could post; here is some food for thought that pulled my heartstrings today.  Be well in letting go ...

While we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him behind the veil.
