There was another younger cat, but it scampered away when I got 'too close'. I tried a few other shots, but they are just too quick (backside shots), haha. When I came in this morning that same group of cats sauntered off as I arrived. "Black cat, cross my path, Good fortune bring to home and hearth; When I am away from home Bring me luck where'er I roam." |

I often say vanity is overrated. Our outer covering is not the essence of who we are, inside. Now we have "big egos" so fierce that the crazies in Washington are letting our country fall apart. It is more like a competition of who can hold out the longest; it sickens me. From Obama, all the way down - both Democrats and Republicans. Back to vanity - do you really think that any one of you is more important than another? Do you even care about the lay person? The military? The aged? In another week, the seniors on Social Security may not be getting their checks. People being turned away for needed medical care, people losing their homes - what a mess! Obamacare and the budget both need to be resolved and by making it all a big egotistic contest is going to resolve nothing. They are bringing us to the brink of rebelling in our streets, worse than any "peaceful sit-in" like we had in the 1960s and 1970s.
C'mon guys, "Put your egos aside, and compromise!" -nr lenz It's been so enjoyable having Valerie Harper on DWTS this season. She's been such a good example to anyone who is facing similar challenges. She's has been an example of "grace" under pressure.
She has the right idea - keep living, and live life to the fullest, day by day. As she knows all too well, "you never know what life may deal you". I believe it's been her attitude that has helped her to out-live her prognosis, along with her desire to "keep on dancing"! Her dance and the song she danced to ... brought tears to my eyes. She has such inner strength. With that, and what she said before she danced, pulled my heart strings. It was so moving. No one mentioned it but, to me, it looked as though she lost her "footing". And when she lost her footing, it interrupted her concentration on the dance itself. I'm speculating that we will see her every week that she can make it. You could tell she loved and enjoyed being there. And we love her, for that!! I hope we see her around for the remainder of the DWTS season! Thanks, Valerie, for being real, for being truly "you". I wish you radical wellness and hope that the diagnosis was wrong! Here are a few of her quotes, about DWTS: It has been absolutely wonderful. Completely unique like nothing else in the world that you would ever do ... It was an opportunity for me to carry a message to folks. Not just with cancer or whatever they have..SOURCE: CBS NEWS 2013-10-08 12:54:00 I'm here for the party and as long as I can participate fairly, I'm willing to keep on keepin' on.SOURCE: SOFTPEDIA 2013-10-08 08:45:00 I'm sad to leave the group and the people, and the fun, the interactions and the challenges, but my knees are in bad shape. Not terrible, not that I need surgery, but they need a rest. These knees are 74-year-old and they are barking..SOURCE: E! ONLINE 2013-10-08 05:46:00 My friend, Dean, goes into surgery this morning, to remove a cancerous mass. The good news: the 9-week round of chemotherapy has shrunk by 50 percent - yay! Positive thoughts and prayers for successful surgery, and speedy, radical wellness. I was having a difficult time finding the right words so I thought a poem would be more appropriate. I this the following poem by Barbara Hope ... gives hope to anyone, all of us, to realize that we all are survivors, on some level.
