Sometimes the spring snowstorms can be worse than in the middle of the season. Fortunately, again, this storm (so far) has gone east and south of us here. We had occasional snow, with somewhat of a melt-off ... now, we are left with black ice.
I thought I was going to have a winter without injury ... WRONG! I fell this morning. I wore my boots just because the yards and open spaces still have a bit of snow, and ice. Of course, no shoes or boots help, on ice ... ice is ice is ice ... ugh ...
Stopping at an auto store, the first step on to their sidewalk in front of the store, and down I went. It was black ice. I fell forward (usually I fall on my posterior where there's more cushioning, ha). My purse, my hands and feeling myself going down stopped me from falling on my face! I ended up with a scraped knee. They had no ice pack, but were able to give me a bandaid, as the scrape bled a bit. I came home, cleaned my wound, and now am going to stay inside, unless it warms up significantly today!!
Be careful, on black ice!!! Be safe ...
