Even the way he proposed was not just heart-warming, but cute. He's always had a great sense of humor and he used it when he proposed. First of all, it was her birthday. He drove into the parking lot of the business where they first met, back in the '70s working at the same company (and became friends). He got out of the car, got an envelope out of the back seat to give to her. Inside were a few photos that she had been wanting him to print - along with: a photo of a sheep, a photo of her, a picture of "Mary", and a photo of him. She was happy about the photos of her kids - the rest - she told him, "I don't get it." He told her, "Read them." EWE ... YOU ... MARY (MARRY) ... ME? I love it!!! (My apologies to them if I didn't get the story exactly right, but you get the basic idea.)
I can't help but think that there will be some surprises in the wedding as well. He has definite ideas about it already. Today, being Valentine's Day, they will go and look at rings. How very sweet, and special. She said she is honored he has chosen her to be his wife. I told her, "He is equally lucky to have a good woman, like you." I'm so happy for them. Congratulations to my friends, and their upcoming unity in marriage!
