Well, another wintry blast hits the midwest. And it's not just a snow ... there's a saying around here that if you wonder about the weather, wait five minutes ... and it will change. That has certainly been the case since yesterday. We went from shirt-sleeve weather, with a cool breeze. Last night was a mixture of high winds, pelting rains, and hail that sounded like popcorn hitting the house. I was pleasantly surprised to see no damage to house, windows, or my car this morning (with quick inspection)! Nothing broken or damaged at work either. It is my understanding that parts of the UNK campus was slammed with the high winds. And some parts of the town lost power. The irony of this storm was that it's the most active storm for the beginning of spring, and the weather sirens are down, so the best information came from local t.v. stations. Today we have COLD, HIGH winds, with sleet, ice balls, and snow predicted for this evening, though mostly in the western part of the state. Our low temperature last night, is our high temp for today! Moisture accumulation on my car's rear window, has frozen! A day to be careful and be aware of black ice, if you go out and about. So far, as usual, the worst of this has gone around us.
